Dazzle Me Megaways

It’s been a while since the last time NetEnt injected one of their classics with the Megaways magic brew, and there are plenty more in the pipeline. Dazzle Me Megaways is visually similar to the originalDazzle Me, but with a more modern finish. The Linked Reels feature has been dropped completely, so all focus is on the Dazzling Wild Reels.
The volatility has been increased from low tomedium, which seems like a fair trade given that the50,000xpotential is 65x what’s on offer in the predecessor. This version also comes with an additional 6th reel, and the number of symbol rows and win ways vary per spin. Overall, NetEnt has done a good job upgrading their classic, and it’s bound to ‘dazzle’ fans of the original game.
Thediamond wildplays a central part in all aspects of this game, and as a regular wild it steps in for all pay symbols to help you form winning combos. All winning symbols are removed from the reels due to the Avalanche mechanic, and new symbols drop down to fill the gaps. This process repeats as long as you keep landing new winning combinations.
TheDazzling Wild Reels featurecan trigger at any base game spin, and thisturns up to 3 reels wild(any reels except reel 1). The wild reels are chosen randomly at the start, and non-wild symbols can appear on the wild reels during the Avalanche sequence that might follow.
You trigger the Bonus Round with8 free spinswhenever you land4 scattersanywhere in sight. You also get+4 extra spins per extra scatteryou land above the minimum of 4. You will benefit fromat least 1 Dazzling Wild Reel per free spin, and there is a counter above all reels except the first. The counter starts at 2, and increases up to 5, 7, 7, 9 and 9 for reels 2 to 6, respectively.
This increases the number of Dazzling Wild positions on the reels accordingly, meaning larger Dazzling Wild wins will be possible as the grid expands when they land. The dazzling wild counter increases every time a wild is part of a winning combo on the relevant reel. You can thus play withup to 99,225 win waysat the most.
NetEnt has dropped the Linked Reel feature in the Megaways version of this game, but we didn’t really miss it all that much. We had a pretty good time testing this game, and we’ve put together a brief and edited highlights video for you, as usual. Hit the play button below to see how we fared.
NetEnt has a large catalog of successful titles they can inject with the Megaways steroids, and this has been their modus operandi so far. Fans of the original game will probably enjoy the heck out of this thing, but it comes with a few drawbacks. Triggering the bonus round seemed a bit hard, and the base game Dazzling Wild wins are mostly there to keep you afloat.
Things tend to get a bit tedious after a while, despite the bright colors and the unusual layout. When the bonus round finally triggers, it can get interesting. However, you will most likely need to build up the Dazzling counters in a significant way to close in on the50,000xpotential. Enough effort has been poured into this to make it a solid follow-up, but NetEnt has not really gone the extra mile to make it spectacular.
Pros
Cons
Dazzle Me- is the less volatile original title from NetEnt, and it comes with a solid 96.9 % RTP also (and no RTP ranges). The dazzling wilds can fill reels anywhere, and the bonus round also comes with linked reels for payouts up to 760x your stake.
Star Clusters Megaclusters- was the first BTG game that introduced the new engine, and all winning symbols split into smaller versions that might lead to more wins. You will also benefit from a progressive wild multiplier, and it does not reset in the bonus round. This can lead to payouts up to 23,000x your stake.
Twin Spin Megaways- is another famous NetEnt classic that’s been given the megaways treatment, and you can win up to 38,000x your stake. You can look forward to the original twin reels feature, and the bonus round comes with wild multipliers up to 3x.
