Cornelius

Cats are strange creatures for sure, but the mysterious side of the feline species is not what this NetEnt release is about. Cornelius is a cartoonish installment about a chubby cat that has the munchies for a certain type of cracker. He’s looking a tad confused there on the left-hand side, as his food bowl is empty. That will change in a major way when either of the bonus features trigger though, and this is a lighthearted and low volatility installment for casual gameplay.
It comes with lively animations though, which makes the game more entertaining and fun than it would’ve been otherwise. Everything revolves around the Cash Drop feature, which comes in a simple streak respins variant with dropping cash symbols. It’s taken up several notches when the bonus round triggers, as you get 3 modifier symbols to spice things up.
The premium symbols pay between 10 to 40 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and there are no wild symbols to help you out in this game. You need3 Cash Drop symbolsin sight to trigger theCash Drop feature, and the symbols come with values between 0.25x and 3x your stake in the base game.
It’s a streak respins feature where the respins tally resets to 3 for each new cash drop symbol you land, and the cash drop symbols drop one position down per respin. All values in view are collected per spin, and the feature goes on until you run out of respins.
You need at least3 scattersin view to trigger the Bonus Round, and this gives you3 free spins. The counter resets per new symbol that lands here as well, but the bonus round comes with several extra modifier symbols:
Non-UK players, and anyone eligible, may take advantage of theBonus Buy option. The price you have to pay for the bonus round is100x your stake.
We had an okay time testing Cornelius from NetEnt, although the theme is a bit too childish for our liking. Anyway, if you are curious as to how our 200 spins test session went, you can check out the video below. Only the best moments made the final cut, so simply hit the play button to get started immediately.
NetEnt knows how to entertain, that much they have proven beyond any doubt a long time ago, and Cornelius is oddly entertaining. It has to do with the catchy animations and snappy game pace more than anything, as this is hardly a game you load in for big thrills. Taken for what it is however, you get plenty of cartoonish bang for your buck here, just not in terms of payouts.
Themax winclocks in at only1,051x your stake, and this number was achieved in 50 million simulated spins. Serious gamblers will probably not go anywhere near this thing, but it has a certain potential to become a “guilty pleasure” kind of game. The Cash Drop feature is entertaining, and even more so when the bonus round brings modifier symbols. We don’t see a massive hit potential when the market trends towards volatile beasts, however.
Pros
Cons
Cat Clans- takes you to the Highlands, and this Snowborn game is all about felines that resemble Scottish clans. You get multiplier wilds, and you can also land random clan battle prizes up to 10,000x your stake. The Cat-a-Pult bonus round comes with increasing multiplier sticky wilds, and the overall max win is 20,000x your stake.
Pawprints of Purrsia- is a Kalamba Games installment in the feline genre, and it comes with a 5×3 grid with 40 betlines. You get 3 unique bonus rounds, or cash prizes, from the bonus wheel of dreams, and multiplier wilds in the bonus rounds can lead to payouts up to 2,883x your stake.
Top Cat- is one to try if you like cartoonish slots about cats, as this Blueprint installment is based on a TV series from the 1960s. It comes jam packed with features, as you get a total of 10 bonus games and modifiers. That should keep you entertained for a while, and the max win is a solid 10,000x as well.
