Superstars

With Superstars NetEnt has pulled something similar to Nintendo’s All Star games, as you get to meet 5 of the most iconic and famous NetEnt characters both on the reels and in the bonus round. These are Finn, Gonzo, Lady Pig, Space Wars Brute and the Starburst Octagram. This is a celebration of a game, and you are the missing star that comes late to the party.
The base game is admittedly not the most exciting thing we’ve tried, but the charming characters do liven up the reels with their star power. Worry not though, as the hold and win style bonus round comes with so many features, modifiers and extras that you’ll soon forget all about the barebones base game. The4,596x potentialis decent, and this is a must try for anyone with a nostalgic bone in their body.
You start with3 spinsonce the bonus round triggers, and the3+ triggering scattersturn intorandom multipliersplaced on the hold and win grid. The number of spinsreset to 3each time you land at least1 new multiplierduring the feature.
If you landed adice scatteronreel 5when the feature triggered, you get to play a board game where dice rolls determine where the token moves next. You can get dice during the bonus round as well, organically or via the features. This is how you move around the board, and certain game squares award the following features:
TheWheel Gametriggers if the token lands on the wheel square, and it comes with thefollowing prizes: +1 extra dice, +2 extra dice, +1 added to all multiplier prizes, +1 to all blank squares (which increases all multiplier prizes accordingly when the token lands on the such a square), a random feature (Starburst, Finn, Space Wars, Gonzo or Miss Piggy), and a replay of the next bonus feature (if triggered).
If you manage to fill the whole grid with multiplier prizes during the bonus round, you trigger what is known as theFinal Game. All the squares on the board are upgraded withvalues between 25x and 1,000xbar the bottom left and top right corners. These award the dice feature. Everything is carried over into the final game, including replay, hearts and the number of free spins. Non-UK players canpurchase the featurefor150x the stake.
We had a pretty good time testing Superstars from NetEnt, and it was kind of fun to see their iconic characters in a new setting. We have created a brief and edited highlights video for your viewing pleasure as we usually do, and you can check it all out for yourself by hitting the play button below.
We really enjoyed the reunion with the all-star lineup of iconic NetEnt characters, and there is plenty of charm and entertainment contained in this release for sure. They carry with them enough star power to keep the base game somewhat interesting, which is good since there aren’t too many features to keep you glued until the bonus round triggers.
This is one of those games you just have to try for yourself, and you can check the demo version above for starters. The bonus round is filled with so many different elements, modifiers and extra features that it all looks confusing when you read about it. It comes together nicely once you start playing though, and the4,596x potentialis decent enough without really being the main attraction in this star-studded release.
Pros
Cons
Space Wars- is a classic NetEnt installment that’s still well worth checking out, and it comes with wild stacks combined with regular symbols. You get a free respins after each win, with cloned symbols, and you can win up to 1,000x your stake.
Piggy Riches- is another iconic NetEnt release, and it pokes fun at the filthy rich. You get x3 multiplier wilds in the base game, and the bonus round comes with 3 different multiplier options. The volatility is medium, and you can win up to £360,000.
Gonzita’s Quest- is the latest installment in the Gonzo saga, where you get to meet what could be or become his wife or girlfriend in future releases. The stone slab accumulating bonus round comes with prizes up to 750x, and the overall max win is 2,580x your stake.
